Movement Excellence
Excelling at anything takes considerable deliberate practice, and quality movement is no exception.
By engaging in deliberate practice at every stage of the motion, you own the entire movement. For a golfer, this may mean stopping at the top of the swing to look at body position, for a martial artist it’s looking at arm or foot angle at a strike begins. If the positioning isn’t right, we find the mobility restriction, eliminate it, and try again.
Depending upon your sport, we may also train sprinting, acceleration and deceleration principles, plyometrics, and a variety of athletic transitional steps, including the plyo step, t-step, and rotational step.
Finally, movement excellence also involves being able to move at a wide variety of speeds. Because life and sport happen at different speeds, you need to be able to move in all ranges of motion in a variety of speeds.
The 10-year rule states that it takes 10 years to become an expert in anything. By applying neuroscience, we can achieve even faster results.
