Efficient Movement

Movement, like everything, is a use-it-or-lose-it proposition.

The first step in creating a healthy, active lifestyle is having a pain-free and mobile body. Immobility and chronic aches and pains are all signals from the body that something is wrong. Many times, the problem is related to how you move — a compensation developed as the result of an injury or accident, repetitive motion syndrome, or any of a million other reasons (which is why I always start with a good history).

move wellOnce the foundation is laid with good, basic movement, then we’ll start looking at your sports and activities to identify and correct inefficient movement patterns. Since inefficient movement wastes energy and slows you down, we want to eliminate those inefficiencies.

I look at everything from the visual and vestibular (inner ear/balance) systems to scars, burns, and fractures. Since anything can cause anything, it’s important to take a holistic approach.

I am a Z-Health® Movement Performance Specialist (R,I,S,T,9S) use the Z-Health system as the foundation of my movement coaching. Learn more about how I incorporate movement work in to training sessions.
